World Class Racewalking Clinic - Denver 2009

Dave McGovern will return to Denver to host a weekend-long racewalking clinic on July 31 - August 2, 2009. If you want to learn to racewalk, this is your chance! If you already racewalk and want some pointers on your form or training tips, this clinic is for you, too.

Dave McGovern, a world-renowned technique coach, will lead participants in individual video-taped technique analysis featuring video from recent Olympic and World Championship competitions, and conduct lectures covering technique, racing strategy, psychology, and proper training methods for racewalkers and marathon walkers trying to make the most of their limited training time. The $175 fee for this invaluable two and a half day weekend clinic includes a Friday night pasta dinner/meet and greet, and two full days of racewalking.

Much, much more information is available at Dave's web site: http://www.racewalking.org or email me  for more information.

3000 meter judged race at indoor meet

The USATF Colorado Association and Mid-America Region Open and Masters Indoor Championships will be held at the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO on Sunday, March 1, 2009.

The single racewalk event is a 3000 meter race at 10:00 AM.

Day of meet registration is available, but preregistration is preferred. See the registration form for fees and more information.

The registration form is here. If you have a printer and are set up to handle PDF files, you should be able to print it out. The intent is to print it out on both sides of an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet so the two-sided application section can be cut off and sent in. Otherwise, both sides can be printed separately and the application sections cut off before sending.

Quarterly Judges Meeting

The next quarterly USATF Racewalking and Front Range Walkers general meeting will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 7:00 PM near Park Meadows. This meeting is for any USATF or Front Range Walkers member interested in future racewalking events and the fairness thereof.
